The TickerNovak Djokovic, on one of the biggest challenges of playing Rafael Nadal: "You could see him at 5-1 in the third set, he played like it's 5-5. He really doesn't care about the result. He just wants to give his best every single point. That's why he's very unique and that's why he's the best now."

The TickerSabine Lisicki takes her first career WTA title with a 6-2, 6-4 win over fellow teen Caroline Wozniacki in Charleston. "When I finally won – I don't know which match point it was, seventh, eighth; it felt like 30th – I was so happy," said Lisicki

The TickerWith his fifth title in Monte Carlo, Rafael Nadal now has 14 career Masters series titles, tying him with Roger Federer and putting him three behind Andre Agassi's record of 17.

The TickerRafael Nadal wraps up a record fifth consecutive Monte Carlo title, defeating Novak Djokovic 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 in the final.

The match lasted two hours and 43 minutes, with the first three games of the third set taking over 40 minutes before Nadal cruised to victory as Djokovic faded.

The TickerRoberta Vinci wins her second career title with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Maria Kirilenko in the final of Barcelona.

The TickerCaroline Wozniacki defeats Elena Dementieva 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 to reach the Charleston final. Wozniacki held triple match point at 6-4, 5-3 but went on a five-game losing streak before finally edging out the match in three sets. "You know that you're so close, you have the carrot in front of you and you just need to take it, grab it. And it just slipped away," said Wozniacki. "Then to start over again, it's really tough mentally. But I hung in there, and as the third set continued, I saw I needed to take a chance. I haven't been fighting for 2 1/2 hours just to give it away."
Wozniacki also defeated Dementieva in the fourth round of Miami a few weeks ago. The two are scheduled to play again on Tuesday, in an exhibition match in Wozniacki's home country of Denmark.

The TickerNovak Djokovic, on whether trying to beat Rafael Nadal on clay is like Mission: Impossible: "No, if I think 'Mission Impossible,' then I shouldn't go to the court, like with the white flag. But I understand... I will try to win because this is finals and I think I have chances. This is the only behavior that is acceptable for winning against Nadal on this surface."

The TickerPost-match reaction from Rafael Nadal: "I think I had the match under control, playing well, playing with good tactic, too, I think good strategy. And, yeah, I thought my chance was in the 5 2. That was the moment for me. [At] 5-3, yeah, I play a little bit shorter. Well, Andy's amazing player, no? He has this ability of, when he needs, he can put it to a little more level."

The TickerPost-match reaction from Andy Murray: "At the start I made too many mistakes. I was trying to hit too many winners from the wrong position.

:Then at the end of the match I started to play properly. I played the ball when I was out of position very high over the net, gave myself time to recover and dictated a lot of points.

"In the tiebreak, got a little bit unlucky. I mean, we played two great points. You know, he won both of them with great shots."

The TickerGaston Gaudio has received a wildcard for Barcelona.

The TickerAustralia will appeal the ITF's decision to have next month's India-Australia Davis Cup tie in Chennai as scheduled. Australia had requested that the tie be moved for security reasons, but a security review found that the chosen location was suitable.

The TickerVera Zvonareva, who is said to have suffered ligament damage after going over on her ankle during her third-round match at Charleston, will arrive in Moscow tomorrow. Further medical examinations will determine whether she can take part in Russia's Fed Cup tie next weekend, said Russian tennis chief Shamil Tarpishchev.
