Possible scenarios!

The TickerThe final placings of the Red round-robin Group in the Masters Cup will all depend on the result of the Roger Federer vs. Andy Murray match on Friday. In the other Red Group match scheduled for Friday, Simon takes on Radek Stepanek in a contest that will have no impact on the semifinal matchups.

Federer controls his own destiny – if he wins, he will reach the semifinals. If he loses, Simon will reach the semifinals. Murray is guaranteed to advance to the semifinals, but will do so as the second-place finisher if he loses to Federer and the first-place finisher if he defeats Federer.

In the Gold Group, Novak Djokovic stands in first place and Nikolay Davydenko second. The first-place player in each round-robin group meets the second-place player from the other group.

Placings are determined first by matches won, then matches completed. If two players have the same match record, the tie is broken by the result of their head-to-head match in the round robin. If three players have the same match record, the player with the highest percentage of sets won wins the group, with any subsequent ties broken by head-to-head results and then percentage of games won.
