Robin Soderling wins the Bastad event in his native Sweden, defeating Juan Monaco 6-2, 7-6(4). Soderling is the first Swede to win the tournament since his coach Magnus Norman nine years ago.

Both defeated compatriot Andreas Vinciguerra on the way to the title, Norman in the 2000 final and Soderling in this year's semifinals.
